Why would I hire an A&A Home Care Services caregiver instead of a private caregiver for my family?

If you hire privately, you become the employer of the caregiver. The following are just a few of the things you must take into consideration when hiring privately. Once you hire a caregiver privately, you are responsible for all state and federal payroll taxes. What happens if the private person doesn’t show up for work? Are you prepared to stay home and take care of your loved one? Are you capable of running a comprehensive, national criminal background check?

Is the private caregiver bonded against theft? Who will supervise him/her? These are only some of the challenges of hiring privately. With A&A Home Care, you do not have to worry about any of these issues.

What different services do you offer?

A&A Home Care Services offers a wide range of non-medical home care services. Everything from companion care and transportation assistance to end of life care.

Are your caregivers insured?

Yes, we have a strict policy, caregivers are not allowed to work without current licenses and insurance.

How do you select my caregiver?

All of our caregivers have successfully passed a thorough reference screening and are registered through the California Department of Social Services Home Care Aide Registry. All caregivers have completed comprehensive State of California Department of Justice, Social Services and FBI national criminal background check. Additionally, all caregivers have successfully completed CPR and First-Aid certifications. We continue to educate and supervise our care professionals.

Can I help choose the caregiver and/or meet them in advance?

Yes. If requested, A&A Home Care Services will arrange a meeting with a caregiver. If at any time or for any reason you want to change caregivers, we will do so at no charge until you are completely satisfied.

How long will it take to get a caregiver?

Based on your needs and requests, we can provide a caregiver immediately or at your convenience. We have English-speaking, and Spanish-speaking caregivers, other languages may be available upon request.

What happens if a caregiver is unable to show up for a scheduled shift?

That's why we employ the care team approach. If your family’s caregiver is unavailable for any reason, another caregiver will be immediately available.

Can you do short-term senior care?

Yes. Our care is always determined by what you need. We will work with you to design a plan specific to your individual needs.

Does long-term care insurance cover non-medical home care?

Depends on the type of long-term care coverage you have. Your policy must have an in-home care benefit in order for the policy to pay. A&A Home Care Services will assist you in verifying your benefits and opening claim. A&AHCS will also bill your insurance as a courtesy if approved.

What is the difference between home care and home health care?

Home care is non-medical care and assistance with activities of daily living.

Alternatively, home health care requires a doctor's prescription, a diagnosis that makes you homebound, and your insurance must approve it as a medically necessary condition.
